Join me for an exciting day photographing one of the UK’s most vibrant and elusive birds—the kingfisher. From the comfort of a purpose-built photography hide, you'll have the chance to capture stunning close-up images of these dazzling birds as they fish, perch, and interact with their environment. With expert guidance throughout the session, this workshop is ideal for photographers wanting to improve their skills or simply enjoy a peaceful day focused on one of Britain’s true wildlife gems.

Equipment needed

Camera: DSLR or Mirrorless with interchangebale lenses, or a bridge camera

Lenses: Lens with a focal length of at least 400mm (300mm on APS-C sensor)

Support: Ideally a tripod head or gimbal head and tripod

Other equipment: Spare batteries, spare memory cards, food, drink

Workshop Information

Workshop Cost: £300 per person (max 2 people). Book as a pair for £450

Location: This is a private hide on private land. Upon receipt of payment the location will be disclosed.

Start time: Meet at the location for 7am

 

Duration: 8 hours

Dates: All year round

Parking: Free on site

Activity level: A 200 metre walk across a field that may be uneven in places. In wet weather wellies would be advised.

Guidance: The workshop includes full guidance and tuition throughout the day in a private hide to help you get the most from your photography experience. N.B. This workshop includes some feeding of the subject.
